House on 4th

The floorplan of this house is layed out in a row, with the front living room leading right into the dining room, then into the kitchen, finally the back living room and out to the back breezway. Therefore, it was important to consider the views from all vantage points.

The kitchen is the middle room of the row layout and would naturally be the heart of the home, so I chose a rich wine color that really grounds the space and blends into the highly patterned floor tile which adds life and drama.

The one window in this small bath (which was built from an empty nook) faces south letting in a great amount of light all day long. I took advantage of this by painting the walls a dark rich chocolate color, contrasted by even darker cabinets and white porcelain fixtures.

This upstairs is so small there was barely room for the seat. I kept things light and spa-like with subtle green accents. Not seen is the shower (opposite the toilet) which continued the sage green tile from the floor and was finished with the texture of a white weave-quilted curtain.

All the floors were stripped and refinished. And the bedrooms upstairs were painted a light airy color with white trimwork throughout.
